Inspired by recent world events, each of the album’s 12 tracks dwell upon the world we live in now, a world struggling to rid itself of corruption, hate, bigotry, and ignorance. The track is a biting meditation on our internal struggles and the many different bodies that encase them. How do we process the hurt, the pain, and the unreal? How do we manage these feelings living inside of us?“Serve and Protect” features Sacramento MC Mad Flows. It speaks to the media’s portrayal of death in the black community as an unjustly “normal” occurrence. Mad Flows spits out fear, rage, and loss—a direct response to the policing of America.

The man that represents the deeper side of Amsterdam house is back on Dirt Crew. His last outing on Detroit Swindle's Heist Recordings, the Le Troubadour EP was another fine example of that laid back funky deep house only Nachtbraker can squeeze out.Settling into the groove immediately is Hump, bouncing chords and a warbling Rhodes lead into an irresistible bass line. The title track, Backstabber hits right in the hips, a chugging feel good work out for the dance floor.The flip remains true to the flavour of this whole EP, offering up a massive speaker rattling bottom end and funk flavoured keys on Time Is Of The Essence, while Monday Mourning steps up with expertly cut disco samples, an effervescent excursion with a jazzy lead and a touch of vocoder for good measure.Nachtbraker's sharp sense of harmony and knack for vibe is ever present throughout this whole release, he has truly fine-tuned his sound to a perfect balance of unbounded energy and stylish musicianship. We are happy to welcome him back on Dirt Crew with this classy release.
