Down in scenic Auckland, New Zealand, tucked in a small basement studio, musician Leonard Charles & his friends paid tribute to Dilla's landmark release by re-recording the entire 31-track album on live instruments. Charles gives the tracks a modern funk reinterpretation on live bass, drums, clavinet, Rhodes & synths - sans any sampling of the original source or sourced material. Legendary Hip-Hop producer & emcee, Sach offers up his eleventh solo album "Fidelity" !This nine-song EP was recorded in Fall 2015 utilizing a new 24-track supplied by Sach's long-time contemporary Giovanni Marks (aka Subtitle). The results are an eclectic progression of his laid-back jazzy production style & delivery first introduced back in his formative years with The Nonce. Live drums, bass & saxophone were woven into 'Fidelity", alongside scratching & percussion by long-time accomplice DJ E-Spinfiniti. Contact Field Orchestra is produced by Damon Aaron. In 2008 he came across a box of 7" tapes at an estate sale in Altadena that turned out to be field recordings of a turn-of-the century orchestra of ex-miners; recorded almost entirely with hand-made instruments and contact microphones. This became the source material for this collection of releases with HIT+RUN. This EP is the fourth release (including a tape release ) from Contact Field Orchestra with HIT+RUN. CFO has also appeared on Giles Peterson's seminal compilation series "Brownswood Bubblers" (Volume 10), and contributed to Ninja Tune's popular "Solid Steel" mix."Sounds like Tom Waits and Augustus Pablo smoking opium on the bayou." -- Kutmah"Mapping The Futures Gone By" furthers Contact Field Orchestra's exploration of dubby broken percussion and haunting found sounds. Sirens and lasers accent plaintive woodwind arrangements set against mbiras and bluesy guitars. Fitting in a time and place that's uniquely it's own, MTFGB is a travelogue to a lucid dream, a mining expedition or a trip to space--somehow nostalgic and familiar, yet somehow not at all.

In and out of prison since the age of 17, ZFF began producing on pirated software his brother gave to him once he had given up a life crime to focus on writing tunes and raising his family.First discovered by Kutmah back in the golden era of Myspace, Zackey's signature "Force Funk Sound" swiftly grabbed the attention of a number of formidable producers. Collaborations followed shortly after with the likes of Salva, Lazer Sword, Lorn, Baron Zen, Daedelus and B. Bravo, as well as forming the group Demon Queen with Tobacco. As these tunes were scattered across various labels, finding their homes on their respective collaborator's projects, ZFF continued to hone his style, delving deeper into the psychedelic future funk realm of which he has created for himself. The fruits of his discipline all add up to his forthcoming debut LP entitled 'Money Green Viper", to be released in July of 2014 on LA based collective Hit+Run.'Money Green Viper' plays as a scrapbook of late night joyrides, fast women, demonic visions, real rap rituals and the ever-present pursuit of infinite paper. All of these tales are woven over dust ridden, boogie and funk influenced beats with Zacky's beautifully haunting vocal stylings as our tour guide. Productions are laced from an appropriate cast of sound architects from across the globe, including Max Kane and Teeko, XL Middleton, Jellphonic, Cupp Cave, Tom Noble, Mike Gao, and of course ZFF himself. Having recently transplanted from Tucson to LA, it seems only natural for the year of the Force Funk Sound to be upon us. 'Money Green Viper' serves as the initial full length transmission of a fantastical mind that has many more stories to tell. We await the dark doctrine with open eyes, ears and hearts."

2015 RSD item! Recordings from 2004 to 2011 in Los Angeles & London. Now available on vinyl for the very first time! In 2011 Hit+Run released the first beat tape by Kutmah entitled "Closure" [HNR15]. The legendary 12-song album consisted of tracks recorded between 2004 - 2011 in Los Angeles as well as his recently transplanted home of London. The cover art was pulled from his collection of drawings made while in US federal detainment, which was later turned into a traveling art show and accompanying book entitled "Two Soups And A Honeybun". In 2015, after the success of last year's vinyl reissue of Kutmah's "Black Wave Tapes" series, HIT+RUN has decided to press up "Closure" on limited-edition vinyl for the very first time [HNR15LP]. The 20-minute record consists of 9-tracks from the original album, all pressed on 10" opaque red wax, plus housed in a one-of-a-kind screenprinted jacket made by Hit+Run in Los Angeles."
