a propos:
Alex Prat and Isao Kumano have been releasing deep, explorative house bangers under the Tokyo Black Star moniker since the mid 2000's, and their work for the likes of Innervisions has been an important pillar to the European house scene ever since. This time the duo launch the second instalment of the World Famous label with four wonky, playful pieces of dance music: "Mitokomon" is a piece of musical oddity thanks to its chirpy strings, bumpy bassline and intricate percussions, while "Subtonic" is more of a straight-up house jacker backed by a gentle wave of 303. Over on the B side, "Meltdown is growly and beat-driven, whereas "Ukiyo" turns the acid onto the electro thanks to its fluttering waves of hummable bass.
