Come Back To Me

a propos:
Having been fans of Italian powerhouse Pino Presti’s music for a long time, it’s a special moment for the Spaziale team to now be releasing the master’s music. SPZ006 sees Stefano Ritteri offer up a club leaning version of a Presti classic, 'Come Back To Me', and new takes on two tracks uncovered from the Pino Presti vaults that have never before been released.Having reached out to Pino, who withdrew from the spotlight a number of years ago, the Spaziale team discovered he was sitting on some unheard, unreleased material. Spaziale’s Stefano Ritteri jumped at the opportunity to work with these recordings, resulting in Ritteri versions of both a Presti classic, ‘Come Back To Me’ spaced out into the galaxies, and two of these never-before-heard tracks recorded back in 1985. Using the original master tapes Ritteri weaves in subtle synth lines, added drum machine hits and tape echo delays to the arrangements providing punchy Balearic takes on these hidden treasures.

Together Forever

The unstoppable Spaziale Recordings set their sights on an absolute Paradise Garage classic from 1982 - the much sought after and instantly recognisable ‘Together Forever’ by Exodus. This fully licensed, remastered reissue comes housed in a full picture sleeve and contains a killer DEF Mix from Stefano Ritteri alongside the original extended vocal and dub versions.Bursting with passion, ‘Together Forever’ is a record that was destined for greatness. A Larry Levan favourite, and for good reason. Produced by Errol Mattis and featuring one of the most sampled vocals in house music, there’s a triple threat of plucked basslines, clavinet power and joyful horns backed with the kind of percussion that ignites a rarely witnessed tribal energy within. It’s had crowds in fits of frenzies ever since its release and every collection deserves this gem nestled within it.As well as the original extended vocal and dub versions, Stefano Ritteri steps up to add his own special touch, giving it some proto house power. He echoes and manipulates those fiery vocals, introducing each element gradually from the acid tinged topline to the layers of drum machine heat, gradually building the suspense to pure fever pitch.Snap up on sight!Picture Sleeve, Shrinkwrapped

Nightlife

auteur:

a propos:
The first officially licensed, re-mastered reissue of the late ‘70s rare groove classic, ‘Nightlife’ from original Blackbyrds guitarist, Barney "Blair" Perry. Original 12” copies of this New York, soul-crooning, boogie masterpiece trade hands for £225+ and with the likes of DJ Harvey and Mr Scruff putting it on rotation, this reissue is serious news for those in the know.Only a member of the Blackbyrds for their first two albums, penning their hit 'Walking in Rhythm’, by 1978 Perry had released this lone solo gem that would go unappreciated until the ‘90s rare groove scene embraced it. The title cut, ‘Nightlife’ is a boogie funk madness, drenched in sleazy synths and dripping with trademark Perry guitar solos, soul-soaked vocals and straight-up, NYC style. On the flip - more than 7 minutes of blissful fusion vibes going by the name of ‘Virgo Princess’, heavy on the sweeping strings and kind of eyes closed, lean-back riffs you'd hope for with Barney at the controls!

Caraiba

auteur:

a propos:
A truly special reissue of a fantastic and incredibly rare Afro-disco 12” from 1978, Tumblack - 'Caraiba / Invocation'. Originally released on the seminal French disco label Barclay, you'd be hard pressed to even find an original copy in the UK, let alone for a reasonable price, so it's high time an officially licensed, remastered reissue came around.Taking the A side of this EP Stefano Ritteri provides a “Spaziale Version” of 'Caraiba' that seamlessly blends elements of African, Afrobeat, Funk and Disco styles, with segments that continually morph and evolve into new tracks. Irresistibly funky and percussive drumming patterns and melodies hypnotise the listener, with only the occasional outbreak of African chanting breaking up the grooves. The B-side contains the original version of “Invocation” that is effectively one long drum track broken down into 7 segments that never drop a beat alongside the original version of 'Caraiba' in all it's glory. As EP's go, this really does take the listener on a journey to Africa, via 1978 New York, and is a true one of a kind. And for all those sample-spotters out there, there's no end of complex drum patterns and basslines to dive into.

El Fen

Next up for Spaziale Recordings - one of the most sought-after Arabic disco records A. Mislayene - 'El Fen' finally gets a long awaited fully official remastered reissue, original copies of which sell for close to £300.This 12" was only issued in seriously limited quantities on the tiny Stip records label out of France in 1976. Sought for the chuggy exotic rhythms of the B side 'El Fen' at long last this eastern-influenced disco masterpiece is available to those who don't happen to have a spare £500!Aït Meslayene was a Kabyle traditional singer who moved to Paris to try his luck. He was driven by an Algerian manager who pushed him to make a "disco" album, a new trend at that time. The recording found place in a studio near Paris, with an American drummer from the funk group "Ice".For SPZ002, Viaggio Recordings head honcho Stefano Ritteri steps up to provide an exquisite “Versione Spaziale” of 'El Fen' on the A side, with the original version and 'Yemma' taking the flip.
