His revision of "I'm an Indian Too" is all about the wild burst of energy and the irresistible funky groove, working on so many levels!B1 Lay-Far is stripping down the original 1976 stomper to it's core groove and the very basic elements, enhancing them sonically to give the dancers what they really need!Last but not least comes the dub version of a northern soul rarity "The Right One". The imperfect original with its dirty and fuzzy texture is re-structured and reimagined in such a way to focus on the rhythm section with its gritty bass line and ruthless drums, however spicing the things up with the playful soulful intermissions, timed just right to suddenly bring it all back to where it all began - the groove.This one is for the heads!“Version Galore - play it some more!"

Dr Love is a veteran and key tastemaker / vinyl junkie on the Montreal scene and Laura Ingalls is a wandering French person of no specific sex who has recently landed in the French Canadian city and they both bonded over their love of anything Disco and Poutine, the main local dish which consists of potato, cheese, gravy and maybe sometimes added meat!Dr Love likes to dig but doesn't really produce while Laura Ingalls is not the most efficient digger and only seems to unearth old Folk and obscure Arabic music for their personal collection but has serious production skills.A1 - Laura Ingalls & Dr Love - Oh Mon Amour 6m 02s Very hard to find anything online about Idris Cheba who's real name is Serge Michael Bijaoui but this was a classic at the famous parisian disco Le Palace in the early 80's when it was released.A2 - Laura Ingalls & Dr Love - Weekend Mouillé 5m 42s This is an odd one, a jazz disco thing from the mid 70's, the producer Art Polhemus is actually more a rock producer and this track sticks out like a sore thumb in his discography.AA1 - Laura Ingalls & Dr Love - Ecoute Mon Coeur 5m 38s Peter Godwin who wrote this was in the band Metro and then went on to write and produce a lot of 80's new wave in France and across Europe, the original is definitely a guilty pleasure, both Dr Love and Laura Ingalls are closet Italo fans and even though this is from Belgium it bares all the cheesy Italo stigmata: big synths, big drums, english vocals with a bad accent!AA2 - Laura Ingalls & Dr Love - Soul Ma Coco 5m 48s This is a cover of Manu Dibango's Soul Makossa obviously, this version kept the melody and changed the lyrics slightly, Bayete is a South African band but the album was only released in Canada and Belgium.

Hell Yeah is back with more beach ready and boat party styled summer tunes, this time from Riccio. This Italian producer has long been making essential edits, off kilter grooves and soul kissed house sounds that demand to be played loud and these new ones are no different.Described by the label boss as Balearic Big Beat, this EP kicks off with Afro Chemy, a scorching seven minute tune that builds on a bed of fat drums. The scattered percussion is loose and organic and when the funky bass and colourful xylophone sounds comes in you can't help but cut loose. Add in a sexy trumpet line and you have the sound of summer distilled into seven sensational minutes.Funky Cave will get any party started with its old school drum breaks and cymbal splashes sounding like the ocean when you plunge in on a hot day. Busted bass lines add a certain fatness and cosmic keys and steamy guitar licks make this another perfect outdoor anthem.Last of all is the blissed out Heather, one to drop at sundown after a long day's dancing. The beats are warm and lumpy, the synths smear out to the horizon like gently breaking waves and soulful leads really get your heart swelling. Proper.
