Finally on CD and reissue LP for the first time in Europe/USA comers the iconic 1979 disco boogie album by New York studio group Dazzle. It was produced by legends Stan Lucas and Leroy Burgess for Patrick Adams Productions and is considered a masterpiece.Vocals are largely by Jocelyn Brown (of “Somebody Else’s Guy” notoriety) with a combo of live instruments, strings and synths by top players of the day, and the CD issue of this album comes complete with a liner note from Leroy Burgess himself plus a bonus track of the 7” release at the time.“Reaching” and “You Dazzle Me” were considered highlights, strings and horns arranged by Patrick Adams throughout. Leroy Burgess would go on to make classic boogie records through the 80s. The original LP currently exchanges hand for huge amounts!

Sometimes you have to put out a recdord for yourself. I first heard the East of Underground LP from Malcom Catto in the Jazzman Records office in around 2000, after a couple of years i managed to pick one up for $100 from a soundtrack dealer who did not know what he had. Now there is a few bangers on the LP but i have always thought is was the ballads that deserve the shine, so after a chat with Egon at Now-Again i managed to sort out putting my two favorites on 45 for that end of the night slowy. hopeflly a few of you will enjoy this one also.

Frank Murillo was born in New York City and still lives and works there as a musician, producer and teacher. Favorite Recordings proudly presents this new official reissue of ARIAN: A rare and underrated Disco album originally released in 1981 by PGP RTB label and fully recorded in New-York.Arian Kerliu was born in the small town of Macedonia, Dibra or Debar. Arian’s first recordings for a local radio stations were at the age of 14, appearing in almost every music festival in Ex-Yugoslavia. When he was 19, Arian came to New York City, working different jobs and studying music. His first music engagements were in various clubs throughout the city, playing guitar and singing. He then met with James Benjamin-Fish, well known bass-guitar player, with whom he formed the band ARIAN & FUNKY FAMILY, mainly performing in the best clubs of NYC at that time.Together, they came to an idea to record an album of their own. After travelling throughout the US, they got to know each other very well, and had connected with probably some of the best musicians you could find at that time. Thus they had Sinclair Acey arranging three songs and Hubert Eaves, as a writer of "Still Together", a beautiful ballad written in honor of his wife. By that time Hubert had gained two Grammy awards for Stephanie Mills’ albums. Kornelius Cambell also wrote and composed two songs of the album, which Sinclair Acey arranged. The album also contains a great cover of “Can’t Say Goodbye” by Bobby Caldwell, a song that Arian and James had interpreted almost every night when touring. And all of this completed with the background vocals of Tawatha Agee (Mtume), Shevill Alexander and Sybil Thomas (Raw Silk).Arian & Funky Family band was then invited in Yugoslavia for a European tour, including James, Kornelius and Stacey, but also others great musicians such as William "Spaceman" Patterson, Zane Mark, Steve Kroon, Trevor Gale, Alex Foster, or Reggie Marks, not forgetting Flame Braithwaite and Meli'sa Morgan on background vocals. Having the material of the 4 songs ready and finalized, the PGP RTB label from Belgrade offered them to release an album, with the idea to also adapt the songs with lyrics from the famous Croatian musician and writer Mario Mihaljevic.Today, Favorite Recordings is deeply honored to bring this brilliant LP back to life. In order to insure the best sound quality, the original tracklist has been dispatched on a double vinyl version, which should please all DJs and music collectors.

Henry Thomas low key 45 on Raptown records has until now been a featured in the record boxes of Deep Boogie and Two Step Dj's who know the deal, it's now time for it to spread its FM synth wings to bigger dancefloors. What more do you want, a SOLID two sider that only slipped through eBay a few times on the cheap as people did not know it, managed to bag one of those myself and with some help from a good friend track Henry down, alive, well and looking forward to his music getting a revival.

I released Zebra over 10 years ago on 12" year ago when at Jazzman Records but deicded to do it on the original format with a brand new master as its always been a favorite 70s dancefloor killer (Huge on the deepfunk scene in the early 2000s) and i needs to fit in peoples 45 box. 500 Only.

Bobby Hammiltons band Anibus only managed to released this single extremely collectable deep Spiritual funk 45, the single didn't gain the movement they hopes and the bands went their separate ways leaving this one amazing 7 inch reproduced here. Bobby is still alive and well so lets put things right and get things right and get this record on the turntable, a truly classy, deep and mindful 45.

One of the rarest funk 45s in existence and the rarest 45 on Ellis Taylor's Forte label flipped with a previously unreleased acetate (has a little bit of background noise but what you gonna do when there is only one copy in the world, we did out best to make it sound good and it does). Both tracks are stone cold Deepfunk killers. Super Black is from the tapes and sounds amazing (better than the original) so go destroy a club with this.
