Sometimes there’s a huge talent out there and you desperately want the whole universe to discover it. That’s pretty much the story of Parisian label Chuwanaga with young French artist Koji Ono, composer and producer of these four precisely crafted gems, recording everything by himself. Brilliantly mixed by Greita from Disques Flegon, his first EP Incognito is the product of a lot of influences, from Metro Area vibes to the original Britfunk sound. With an inner sense of elegance in the arrangements - something we may link to his Japanese heritage? - The whole EP brings musicality back on the dancefloor. Favorite Recordings proudly presents Le Premier Disco Sans Toi, new single EP by Andre Solomko, pursuing a collaboration that started more than 5 years ago. Born in Ukraine in 1965 and now based in Finland, Andre Solomko is primarily a rich and engaging personality, but above all, a brilliant saxophonist, composer and engineer, whose contagious passion cannot leave anyone indifferent. Announcing a new album planned for 2018, this new EP unveils two new compositions with Disco flavors. Andre’s backed again by a team of great musicians and vocalists, such as Mr Day and Lili Wagner on “Le Premier Disco Sans Toi” (The First Disco without You), or Charlotta Kerbs on “Moonbeach Disco”. And if not really the first, this Disco journey fits perfectly with Andre Solomko’s Jazz-Funk style and sense of melody, showing another facet of his many talents.

Following the release of Baba Commandant's debut album in 2014 on Sublime Frequencies label, Mawimbi is proud to present Wasso, one of the best cut from the album in brand new mixing shape alongsides killer electronic remixes from the likes of Mawimbi signee Loya and Mr. Boom. A rather eccentric and mysterious character from the Ouagadougou underground scene, Baba Commandant started out as a traditional Bobo dancer, before engaging in a rich musical career. Recorded at the notorious Ouaga Jungle Studios, "Wasso" is a prime example of the band's unpolished and raw sounds. Stripping the original track down to its most lively elements, both remixes are perfect club-ready weapons for tropical-minded and house DJs alike.

Emotional Rescue and Jamwax come together to present the first of three essential 12”s from NY/Jamaican label Capo Disco, all officially licensed and remastered for the first time. The brainchild of reggae vocalist, musician, producer and label owner Glen Adams, the label married disco with his Caribbean roots to perfection. Here then the spotlight is on Adam’s nascent disco releases and the series starts with the wonderful, uplifting A Beat For You. Actually appearing on a one off sister-label, Top Secret, this is a beautiful “Lovers” anthem from Adams over a laidback dub-bass riddim. Backed with a simple instrumental Version, the space and interplay of the keys and guitar over drum and bass is superlative. “There is a beat in my heart, just for you…just for you.”
