The Exotic Dance label from J. Albert and Person of Interest was inaugurated just over a year ago with the Dance Slow cassette from the former, a hefty 10-track CS that set the stylistic tone of rough round the edges house and techno. After the two shared sides on the label's debut 12", J. Albert mans this third Exotic Dance release which features a four-track clutch of highlights from the Dance Slow tape. Given the eminently danceable nature of the tape, this is a most smart move; as is including the seductive title track. Raw house burner "2AM" also features on the A-side, whilst the flip has the '80s flecked "My Passenger" and the blissful thumper "Truth & Understanding" which has a very familiar sampled hook wedged deep in the mix.

Charles Bradley is set to release his third album, Changes, on April 1st on Daptone Records. Rolling Stone named Changes one of the "Most Anticipated Albums of 2016," stating "The ageless, limitless 'Screaming Eagle of Soul' swoops back with Changes, an album named after Charles Bradley's affected rework of Black Sabbath's 1972 piano ballad."The remarkable against-all-odds rise of Charles Bradley since the release of his 2011 debut album No Time For Dreaming has been well documented. He transcended a bleak life on the streets and struggled through a series of ill-fitting jobs before finally being discovered by Daptone Records. The year following the release of No Time For Dreaming was one triumph after another including a breakthrough performance at SXSW, several television performances and having the album named to many year end "best of" lists. The soul singer's ascent continued with the 2013 release of his triumphant second album Victim of Love, which saw Bradley emerging from his past heartaches stronger and more confident, overflowing with love to share. On a fishing trip two years ago, the two main guys behind Africaine 808: D Leyers and Nomad - went to a tackle shop to buy some creepy crawlies (saltwater worms), not knowing that they were about to make a life changing discovery. In front of the shop a blind man was jammming on a little electronic organ, stomping his feet, singing, growling and basically making a scene.The boys were quite impressed with the fella, who introduced himself as 'Blind Double D'. They offered to bring him home and record him. He turned the offer down, but offered instead that they could record him on the spot in front of the tackle shop - if they bought him a bottle of good Bourbon. He explained that he would never set foot into a studio again in his life: he was sick of music production and the music industry in general, and that he just wanted this bottle of Bourbon and to be left alone.The boys got him the bottle, and recorded Blind D.D. on the spot with a tape recorder they borrowed from the tackle shop. Unfortunately, the tape was stored in one of the tackle boxes over the trip, and some of the creepy crawlies crawled into the tape and stank it all up. This added some extra funk to the recording. With Dirk and Nomad's usual studio trickery and production skills, they created the two versions of this very very funky, creepy, stanky track.We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.
