They formed and became inseparable friends at Humber College's Music Performance program in 2011 and have been on a critically acclaimed, rule bending musical journey ever since. BBNG took the music world by storm with their 2014 LP, III, a brash yet refined record of angular jazz improvisations, lush ballads, kraut rock, & futuristic hip-hop tinged rhythms which led to a couple years of touring the world & collaborating with some of the best and brightest artists around the globe. The boys are back with the new album IV, their most impressive and highly anticipated project yet. IV continues their forward thinking progression, sounding something like a jam session in space between Can, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, Weather Report, Arthur Russell & MF DOOM.With tracks like "Time Moves Slow" featuring haunting vocals from Sam Herring of Future Islands, the syncopated groove of "Lavender," a collaboration with Montreal based producer Kaytranada, the rumbling fusion build of "Confessions Pt. II" featuring Colin Stetson on the bass sax, "Love" which is highlighted with smokey left field raps from Mick Jenkins & the epic chords of "Speaking Gently," IV is an exploration in post-genre virtuosity.

The last couple of years have been huge for Pomo , going from a relatively obscure Canadian producer to releasing his debut EP on HW&W, remixing for the likes of Janet Jackson and Mark Ronson, producing "Am I Wrong?" on Anderson Paak's debt album and touring the globe with Disclosure as their opening act.Bastard Jazz has commissioned Pomo to be next in line for the fourth volume of their "Tempo Dreams" compilation series, following on the heels of the acclaimed Soul Clap compiled Vol. 3. As with other Tempo Dreams records, Pomo has curated a slick and well polished album full of exclusive tracks from friends and collaborators such as Lindsay Lowend, Aloka, Exmag, Syre, Daniel Crawford, FVLCRVM and more. Touching on the shimmering nudisco sound, plodding deep electronic vibes, funky instrumental hip-hop, and even a hint of drum 'n' bass, Tempo Dreams Vol. 4 takes it's rightful place in the series as one of the most forward thinking compilations showcasing emerging young talent.

Homeboy Sandman is set to release Kindness For Weakness, his third full-length album on Stones Throw Records. The album's title comes from Sandman's internal insight that "mistaking kindness for weakness is a weakness I need to have more kindness for". One of Sandman's most poignantly lyrical releases to date, the album centres on the MC's discomfort in his comfort zone, and addresses themes such as his personal insecurities, rapper stereotypes and morality. The prolific Queens MC has been prominently published in Gawker and the Huffington Post. In an extensive feature in The Guardian, he stated "I don't want to write something to be a conversation piece. It has to help change something".Since signing with Stones Throw Records in 2011, Homeboy Sandman has made himself at home with 3 full-lengths, a series of 5 short records and, most recently, a free EP with collaborator Aesop Rock (who has a guest feature on Kindness for Weakness) named Lice, which includes a remix by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park. With Kindness For Weakness, Sandman has once again established himself as one of the most productive and creative lyricists of this generation.

Over those years, we've taken quite a bit of requests for a repress of LTD006 so we've decided to answer those requests. The Exotic Dance label from J. Albert and Person of Interest was inaugurated just over a year ago with the Dance Slow cassette from the former, a hefty 10-track CS that set the stylistic tone of rough round the edges house and techno. After the two shared sides on the label's debut 12", J. Albert mans this third Exotic Dance release which features a four-track clutch of highlights from the Dance Slow tape. Given the eminently danceable nature of the tape, this is a most smart move; as is including the seductive title track. Raw house burner "2AM" also features on the A-side, whilst the flip has the '80s flecked "My Passenger" and the blissful thumper "Truth & Understanding" which has a very familiar sampled hook wedged deep in the mix.
