Where Do We Go From Here? (Remixes 2)

photo:
a propos:
The Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra is Far Out's in house Brazilian disco super group. It features the arrangements of Azymuth's late Maestro José Roberto Bertrami and the legendary Arthur Verocai alongside a host of other Brazilian musical icons. FOMDO013 is the latest in a series of vinyl only 12" remixes and edits on Far Out. Previous producers providing their re-works to the series include Theo Parrish, Marcellus Pittman, Mark Pritchard, 4hero, Isoul8, LTJ Xperience and more.Having graced the most recent FOMDO 12" release with his signature touch, Detroit veteran Andres returns on the imprint with an alternate take on the same track. Taking the classy disco cut 'Where Do We Go From Here?' into moodier, deeper territories, with freshly chopped vocals and a hazy hip-house bounce, it's a warm late-night stepper, laced with classic OG Detroit funk. With a world renowned disco collection and over thirty years' in the DJ and production game, Italy's Luca Trevisi, A.K.A. LTJ Xperience, proves yet again just what a dab hand he is with an edit. Bringing out yet more colours and textures from the FOMDO original, his rework is pure sunshine-hedonism inducing disco magic, with just the touch of dubby hypnotics that might well cast some minds out to the Balearic Islands ...

photo:
a propos:
Chicago's Al & Tone are back with 2 dancefloor burners on this new 7''. Al kicks things off with the groovy disco instrumental ''Tsunami'' while Tone tackles the under the radar Afro boogie jam ''Sunburn''. Both tracks should garner major spins and further solidify their rep for quality.

Secret Squirrels #10

photo:
a propos:
More cut up, heavy dance floor tackle that criss-crosses the boundaries of proto-House and Disco from those anonymous edit masters The Secret Squirrels. Tracky as hell and cut loud for impact, the Squirrels make no apologies for taking aim directly at the dance floor.

Dance Floor Favorites Vol 2

auteur:

photo:
a propos:
This is volume two of a two volume set from edit master Gay Marvine justly called Dance Floor Favorites. These are some of his most sought after unreleased edits that are known for their strong reaction on the dance floor. They cause an instant heat. His perversity shines through the extreme tempo shift of “Jungle Fever” lifting it up into pure ecstatic dance floor action, with all the eroticism of “French Kiss” and all the spanish funk groove of Barrabas. We could to listen to the hypnotic “Goodnight” for hours on end, finally seeing light on vinyl. Gay Marvine’s “What’s Happening Bro” is not an edit per se, it’s what happens when you cross that line and it becomes house. This is perhaps his greatest tribute to Moodymann and his sets at Better Days,Hotbox and La Dolce Vita. The EP ends with the ever dirty “Bump Man” and Gay Marvine’s unique feverish take the needy anthem. Gay Marvine might just be the Frankie Knuckles of edits, because his music will keep you warm in the cold, a true musical heater.

Dance Floor Favorites Vol 1

auteur:

photo:
a propos:
This is volume one of a two volume set from edit master Gay Marvine aptly called Dance Floor Favorites These are some of his most sought after unreleased edits that are known for their strong reaction on the dance floor. They cause an instant heat. Includes his own rude jacking acid jam “Banji Girl Realness”, using lines from Paris is Burning conjuring the energy of the dance floor battles that would ensue during a Ken Collier set at Heaven. “Keepyourbodyworkin” delivers that filth your dance floor needs, while “Street Life” simply elevates your floor, walking on air. And nothing shines the light stronger than “Weekend”, always a peak moment at a party.

Down In The Basement Vol.3

photo:
a propos:
Frank Booker is back down in the basement for the 3rd release on his hot new vinyl only imprint. The main man himself delivers the A side cut, which is a classic Booker style disco jam.By now standard Booker ingredients are served - super tight drums, funky bass, big strings, joyous horns, a wild piano riff - and the whole affair climaxes with a joyous vocal hook. Irresistible stuff! On the flip side, Frank's compadre Dicky Trisco drops another serious disco weapon that is guaranteed to kick-start any party with its chunky, funk-inspired sound. Absolutely ready to tear up the dance floor at any moment, it is again the keys that really seal the deal here. Both tracks have 100% got the funk and have been lovingly mastered for this limited edition 10 inch vinyl release.Making this yet another stellar release on the Down In The Basement label - as you would expect!

Timeless/Closer

photo:
a propos:
Introducing Kon's forthcoming compilation album 'Kon & The Gang', we are delighted to present this 12" sampler featuring two incredible cuts taken from the LP, as well as an exclusive remix from Caserta. Opening track 'Timeless' could hardly be more aptly named. Sublime, smokey piano touches on the intro give way to an uplifting, languid disco track, jammed full of sunshine. Catchy vocal snippets, rock solid bass and guitar licks build up the groove beautifully alongside Kon's trademark staccato, squelchy synth chord stabs. On the flip-side Truccy (better known as Compost's Rainer Trüby and Corrado Bucci) present 'Closer', another sun-drenched groove with definite Balearic touches. Jazzy chords and touching vocals (performed by the duo themselves with assistance from Nicolas "Michael Ellis" Rogoll) lend the track a distinctly 'live' feel. Boston producer and mix engineer Caserta closes out proceedings with his remix of friend and musical collaborator Kon's 'Timeless'. Highlighting piano loops and synth stabs from the original version, his rework moves the track seamlessly into Deep House territory, with smoothly rolling percussion and a hypnotic arrangement. A delicious taste of what's to come from 'Kon & Gang', this limited 12" is surely going to be essential listening this summer.

Ptaki take another journey with the Transatlantyk imprint to bring you the remixes of their well received debut album. Alongside an unreleased dub from the 'Przelot' sessions, you'll find two great reworks here, both by contemporary heroes of the fast rising Polish House scene. The real gem here is Eltron's 10 minute version of 'Sloneczny Pyl', taking a whole A Side for a reason. It's a straight up peak-time House banger destined for summer jam status. The catchy female vocal loop from the ambient original is surrounded here by a massive warm bassline running on a dubwise tip, layered tribal drums and percussions, and a few cisterns of raw, oily effects, guitar licks and pouring keyboard pads. And that enormous breakdown too...Eltron's trademark 'big room deep' vibe mixed with Ptaki's slice of sampled psychedelia created a track that's already a road-tested crowd favourite.Das Komplex take on 'Ostatni Kurs' is no different in being amazing, although it's destined for a different time of the party. Cinematic atmosphere of the original is maintained and developed into Jazz-funkin' slice of slow House music. Ptaki's melancholic samples are set together with island-like flavours of horn section, walking disco bassline and tons of sensimilla-infused effects. Another great track from the most talented Polish newcomer.Last but not least is 'Taniec Na Wodzie'. This dubby original brings you folky guitars, flutes, organs, synths and pianos working closely with hypnotic rhythm. Clocking at 63bpm, this one is for the afternoon at the beach.
