Give'n'Take

photo:
a propos:
BACK IN STOCK !!!Give'n'Take is a new series on Uncanny Valley that focuses on favourite and like-minded producers from some of our core artists. For the start, Cuthead picked Max Graef, S3A and Moony Me and also contributed two tracks to the EP himself. Berlin's wunderkind Max Graef hands in "Tittenkuschler", a slow burner that will find a home on heartfelt dancefloors and sofas alike. Cuthead's follows up with a punchy house affair called "Braziliance" and the super-relaxing Hip-Hop-cut "Oef Oef". On the flipside we have S3A from Paris with the discoid "Theuz Hamtaak". He takes no prisoners with extensive sampling and an up and down bouncing arrangement. "Magergarten" from Vienna's Moony Me runs in the same vein with its string-heavy break and powerfull drumming. For the visual component Uncanny Valley asked Lucas Hunter aka Luca Lozano aka Luke to create one of his oldschool-praising artworks.

Nettles 001

auteur:

photo:
a propos:
From Da Vaults…Nettles is a new series from Red Rack'ems Bergerac label which will focus on the more sample based end of things. Tracks which have remained secret weapons for many years will finally see the light of day. This first release features music which was played by quite a few heavy hitters but sadly remained lost on the hard drive…until now…‘Bill George' starts of as a super funky, cut up electro disco jam which morphs into the mother of all breakdowns before drifting into super deep Detroit style house and then peaking back to the original electro funk vibes. A secret weapon for the likes of Crazy P (who featured it on their Beats In Space mix way back in 2010) and one of Red Rack'em most 'unreleased tracks requested for release', there's going to be quite a few people around the world celebrating Bill George finally making it to wax.A 30 second piece of incidental music from a long lost German children's television series is extended into a late night disco jam 'Timm' which picked up props from none other than Todd Terje when Danny extended it back in the Hot Coins edit days of 2007. Another 'lost' track which is finally seeing release….‘Transfer List' began life as a hip hop beat which ended up being such an epic opus that the full glory of the track had to be unleashed. Once again a Cdr classic for a trusted few. A super funky beat evolves into a kind of honky tonk vibe sort of on the KMD tip but with added poppy vocals. Made in 2003

Dancefloor Meditations Vol 1

auteur:

photo:
a propos:
Kat Records once again come up trumps with a blazer of a 4 tracker for release number 27 on the ever consistent imprint.Kat debutant Inxxwel continues the run of releases in fine form with a wonderful EP of not so well known dance floor smashers covering Afro, Disco, New Wave, and 80's Boogie vibes.Kicking things off is the Disco Afro goody that is Check It Out.A mid tempo shake down that ticks all the right boxes with infectious guitar riffs, vocals and bass-lines right through this with a cheeky teaser of an arrangement that's sure to do some damage on them there dance floors!Next up is I See You…. Pure Japanese New Wave badness spliced up with pure love (none of this quantising malarky here). Super quirky vibes with a new wave disco biz and bumps along with aplomb. Make Me is a forgotten 90s RnB tune chopped and given the rework love.. Re-jigged from the original half time track, with some added Moog synth vibes for added oomph.Last up is Old Fashioned, a subbed out garage Boo-gie vibe with sweeter than sweet vocals that hark back to shiny outfits, hair spray and some ever so sexy moves. Lets do this!

In House EP

photo:
a propos:
City Fly are very pleased to announce the upcoming release of their 13th record, and it's a very special one indeed. The Leicester imprint has always been a champion of quality house music both local and worldwide, but this latest wax features the talent of the home team with a track from each of the City Fly crew. The collection hones in on City Fly's trademark sound of deep, authentic house music with no compromise. The EP open's with recent 'Future Society' by Seven Davis Jr signing Jonna & Samwell with their debut collaboration 'Henry Western' featuring the unstoppable Lady Blacktronika. It's a heads down, no nonsense affair with moody chords underpinning mournful vocals that just ooze soul. Next up is the smooth, loopy disco of Last Trip to Gandahar's 'R136a1' which is a classic cut that even Soundstream himself would be proud of. From here we move on to 'Without You' by Darran P, which balances silky Rhodes chords and melancholic vocals. Bringing the EP to a close is J'Shez's killer remix of 'Holloway' by Flori. The original surfaced on City Fly 003 and this reinterpretation is a pure pumper from start to finish.
