We're really happy to get Andy on Heist after his successful collab with his buddy Max Graef on the Jungle EP back in 2013. He delivers a great 4-track EP that ranges from the synth-arp love affair of 'The same for me', to the heavily sampled disco jam 'Epsilon girls.' What we feel for Max Graef might just be our biggest man-crush ever. We came across his music through his own label "Box aus Holz" and we're just as stoked as he is to have him as our second release. The A1 track "Jungle" (with multi-talented his Aussie pen pal Andy Hart) is probably the most sought after track of our sets lately and has caused quite a flow of emails ("what the hell is this??)_after our Boiler room set. It's got that ass-shaking groove without being a regular four to the floor banger. It rather creeps up from behind with some perfectly sampled scats and a cool duet of cowbells and stabs. Add some funky jungle effects and you've got a track that's stuck in your head for the rest of the day On the B-side, we've got "Ignorance is Bliss". This track is exactly what we love about modern day deephouse. It's got a rough warehouse vibe on the lows, a hint of disco and a set of 'rhodesy' keys running through the track to set the mood. "Zitze" is the last track of the EP with layers and layers of vocals, textures and keys taking turns and a great shuffle that runs through the track that makes it just as much a good listen, as a dancefloor jam. And today, we've got another dream that's turning into reality: We're starting our own label.This is Heist Recordings, and you're looking at our very first release. We're extremely proud to share this two track EP of our own music with you and we hope you'll like it as much as we do. The break up is a track that checks all the boxes of the signature DS sound. An infectious set of airy chords, a bumpy bass-line and a lush female vocal give the track that feeling that bridges everything we love about the house from back in the days with the things that get everyone excited today. The make up is a deeper track, but still a genuine house tune, with some repetitive almost hypnotic vocals and stabs and of course, a pumping groove. You'll lose track of everything halfway through the break, but as soon as the beat kicks in, you know its business time. This is just the first step. 'KIEDY BYLEM MALYM CHLOPCEM' was the biggest hit in the long career of Tadeusz Nalepa, the king of Polish blues. The irresistible, smooth guitar groove is combined with conscious lyrics about different views of what's important at different stages of life, served in the form of a conversation between father and son. Miod crew transform this beautiful song into peak-time killer, tailored exactly for the needs of a modern dancefloor.Moscow's man of the moment Beard In Dust edits 'BIALA SOWA, BIALA DAMA, BIALY KRUK' by Kram into a flawless disco funk bomb, fuelled by cheesy synth action. A slice of Eastern European B-Boy disco breaks.Side B brings more ethereal and psychedelic flavours to the table. 'NA KOLANA PASTUSZKOWIE' comes from Laboratorium, Poland's answer to Weather Report. Their unique take on fusion is remixed here by Daniel Drumz, one of the heroes of Polish hiphop & beat scene. This longtime turntablist leaves his rap roots and travels to the psychedelic coast to bring you an amazing piece of Baltic Beat.Last two tracks are chopped and looped by Australian hero Carpentaria in a truly Balearic fashion. 'ZA OSTATNI GROSZ' by Budka Suflera charms the listener with dripping pianos and a misty, endless soft rock groove (with added swirling synths played here by Brennan Green himself), while ZACZAROWNE MIASTO by Kombi is a dark, cinematic piece of slow synth pop.It may be the end, but The Very Polish Cut-Outs finishes off in fine style.

Moniquea’s “A Certain Way,” as first heard on her “Yes No Maybe” album on MoFunk Records, has been remixed by some of the heavyweights in the modern and future funk scenes - Teeko, known for his intergalactic funk expeditions with partner B. Bravo on Starship Connection, and XL Middleton (with Eddy Funkster), who was responsible for the production of the original version. Teeko’s remix molds the original into an even more upbeat incarnation, riding the line between funk and soulful house, maintaining a deep, thumping rhythm with spaced out chords and leads sitting on top. The XL Middleton + Eddy Funkster remix goes in another direction, creating an electrofunk vibe akin to that of legends such as Egyptian Lover, melding fierce 808 drums and sparse synth work with dubbed out slices of Moniquea’s original vocal performance.

Produced by Philadelphia's Legendary Sonny Hopson, Santiago is Indeed Neftali Santiago from Mandrill who took a break from the band in 1975 and did a little experimenting, this came out of a 6 hour sessions in which 3 tracks were recording, two being on this 45 and is Santiago's only lead vocal to date . The band lasted a year in that time supporting Gil Scott Heron and The Ohio Players live.
