Having busted out a staggering amount of edits for Disco Fruit over the past few years, Loshmi makes his vinyl debut for the label with the Drugstore EP, and he's packing even more of that feel-good funk in the process. The title track is a heavy, sample-a-delic jam with a deadly flute lead and heated organs, while "Wsoop Wsoop" opts for an outright boogie freakout of the highest calibre. "Sweet And Nasty" heads in the direction of Salsoul Records to inject some Philly heat into the house beats on offer, and then "Still Loving You" rides the EP out on a sweet, soulful tip.

Most Excellent Unlimited's Danny Krivit re-edit series continues with more, erm, "most excellent" material. He begins with the heavy drum breaks, guttural funk guitars, bombastic bass and winding saxophones of "City", smartly emphasizing the densely layered percussion and the original track's various instrumental solos. On the flip you'll find the equally intoxicating and mind-altering "Sun, Sun, Sun", where chanted vocals - in tribute to that big orange ball in the sky - rise over a metronomic synth bassline and an African-influenced rhythm track. It's a chunk of genuine dancefloor voodoo just crying out to be played at sunset and sunrise.

Here comes the first vinyl release by French collective Parisian Soul, released on Denote Records.Denote Records is a label founded in 2001 by David Hachour and Florent Sabaton, following the success of their Disco/House band Oscar. From 1998 to 2005, their productions filled many international dancefloors and David H travelled all over the world to play alongside famous DJs such as Rainer Truby, Paul Johnson, Little Louie Vega, Shazz, Eva Gardner, Dj Cam, Carl Craig, Arnaud Rebotini (Blackstrobe), or Grand Master Flash to name just a few…Since 2005, David focused on his work as sound engineer and started working at the famous “Topmaster” recording studio. And in 2008 he launched the “ColorSOundStudio” with Florent. But after a few years, the duo decided to reactivate the Denote imprint in 2012, with various projects including artists such as Villanova, Andre Salmon, Chez Carmen, or Sleaz.In 2016, David formed Parisian Soul alongside Jérôme Lecailletel and Laurent Cohen, all connected by their love for Disco and Funk productions. Jerôme, who’s also part of the Oscar adventure, is a multi-instrumentist and composer, who have a long career as a studio musicians for many majors’ acts. As Laurent Cohen has been deejaying since 1985 for various radio and clubs, also working for famous Parisian records shop, Sound Records and Urban Music.On this first vinyl only release, the trio also combined the curiosity of digging, with the organic groove of live music and the requirements of high level mastering. Finely produced at the ColorSOund mastering studio, their 2 first reworks is a brilliant mix of their Funk, Disco and House influences, perfectly fit for killing the dancefloors.

For their first release of 2017 and third edition of the series, the Parisian crew, Discomatin, dug harder than ever to propose edits still in the spirit of the afterparty they organize. The EP is composed by four tracks, finely picked and slightly edited by the DJs of the crew. They cover a wide range of genres, from French boogie, to cosmic disco, through West-Indies or new-wave influenced lyrics. There is definitely something for all tastes on this EP. It’s fresh, it’s French, so don’t sleep on it!

This opus was recorded in a room transformed into a studio, where countless hours of work happened on an old computer, with trips back and forth to the grocery to buy liters of soda.In between soundtrack, jazz-funk and house, the beginnings of this EP find their roots in the encounter between Lucien and DJ Gregory (Point G), spiritual guide, who pushed into an introspective work, where the feelings were ultimately revealed sincerely. This EP is also the meeting of 4 musicians who’ve known each other for a long time and, together, form Lucien & The Kimono Orchestra.
